August 2018

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

We are so thankful to you all for your prayers and support. Thank you so much for all that you have done to enable us to be here in Bosnia for the last six months. We have now completed five months of language learning and are thankful for the accomplishments that we have made so far and look forward to all that we will be able to do at the end of a year.

A while back I wrote about Gavrilo Princip and how he had killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which many see as the start of WW1. In the United States and many other places he is seen as a terrorist and not a good man. In East Sarajevo however there is a statue to him and he is seen as a hero. He was part of a partizan group that wanted to free Bosnia from their oppressors the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. What he did is seen by many here as heroic.

Things like this help us to understand more of the culture here in Bosnia so that we might reach them with the Gospel. Please pray with us that we will be able to see many churches started here in Bosnia that preach true freedom which is only found in Christ Jesus.

Praises from July:

  • Made progress in the language.
  • Able to read and understand much more of the Bible in the language.

Prayer Requests:

  • Language and Culture learning.
  • For open doors to share the Gospel with people.
  • Elections here in Bosnia.

Yours for Bosnia and Herzegovina

Micah and Kathryn Rastelli
