Prayer Letter July 2018 PDF Version

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

Thank you so much for your continued for your prayers and support. Our main focus for this first year here in Bosnia is to learn the local language. We have language school every day and work at practicing the language with friends that we have made and with others. One other thing that we have been doing is reading our Bibles in the language. This has been very good although we make very little progress each day while reading. At first we had to look up every word in every verse but over time we are able to read more and more with understanding. We can’t wait until the day we can speak and read freely in the language.

I was able to share my first lesson in the language last month. I really enjoyed studying John one over and over again as I prepared the lesson. After I had written the lesson I had it reviewed by my language teacher and a friend before I taught it. We look forward to doing this full time!

Three Presidents:

Here in Bosnia as a result of the war there are three presidents here in Bosnia. One from each of the main ethnic groups here, Bosniak, Croatian, and Serbian. They serve together for four years, rotating who is chairman every eight months. This is the year they elect new presidents here in Bosnia. Please pray for these elections.

Praises from June:

  • Made progress in the language.
  • Able to read and understand much more of the Bible in the language.

Prayer Requests:

  • That we would learn the language and culture here.
  • For open doors to share the Gospel with people.
  • Elections here in Bosnia.

Yours for Bosnia and Herzegovina

Micah and Kathryn Rastelli
