Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
Thank you very much for your continued prayers and support. We are continuing to make progress in the local language here in Bosnia. One of the things that we have learned is that it is best to call it the local language because there are three different names for the same language depending on who you are talking to and what part of Bosnia you are in.
We are currently in the middle of Ramadan. Ramadan is a month long fast for Muslims. They go from sunrise to sunset without food and water but eat and drink before and after. I have however been surprised by how few people here in Sarajevo seem to really follow the fast. Over 90% of the city is Muslim and yet all the coffee shops and restaurants have people in them during the middle of the day. Please continue to pray that God would open their eyes to the Gospel.
Praises from May:
- Made progress in the language.
- Able to read and understand much more of the Bible in the language.
- That we would learn the language and culture here.
- For open doors to share the Gospel with people.
- That God would prepare people in Bosnia for the Gospel.
Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and is home to between 400,000-600,000 people. From people that I have talked to if you added up all those that profess salvation it is only 300-400 in the city. In the whole country they say that there maybe 1,000. Truly there is a great need for the Gospel to be preached here. Please pray with us that God would open doors!
Yours for Bosnia and Herzegovina
