Psalm 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
Many times I find myself allowing what is going on around me and in my life to determine how happy I am and if I will rejoice in God or not. In this verse, David is making a choice that he will be glad and rejoice in God. Much of my problem is that I want to find my happiness and reason to rejoice in the circumstances of life.
David is not choosing to be glad because of circumstances but because of who God is. He says he will be glad and rejoice in God. We can choose to be glad and rejoice if we are looking at God and not at what is going on around us.
We have a good God that is worthy of all praise!
