Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
It can be so very easy to glory in the things that we see and have some control over. Our wisdom, might, and riches are all things that we work towards building and have some control over. Many times it is easy to glory in these things and find our identity in the things that we have.
God challenges us to glory in the Lord and not in any of these things. Truly as children of God our satisfaction and glory should all be found in the Lord alone. Wisdom, might, and riches will not last and can always be compared and never be enough or truly satisfy. The Lord and what He does is eternal and we should glory in the Lord and not anything else. We should delight as He does in His works of lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness.
Let us glory in the LORD!
