Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the bed, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of the heart. Commit thy way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
I read these verses and was encouraged by them. Sometimes it appears like evil is winning and that the wicked man is the one that prospers and gets what he wants. Here David is challenges us to live for God and he tells us three keys.
First we are told to trust God and do good. I like how simple this makes things. We are to trust God just like we did for salvation and just do good. Doing good is obeying God’s Word and doing what He tells us to do.
Second we are told to Delight in the Lord. We are to find enjoyment in God and in spending time with Him. Our daily devotions and going to church should not just be something that we do, but ways that we delight in God. If we find our delight and satisfaction in God then He will give us the desires of the heart.
Lastly we are told to commit our way unto the Lord. God knows what he is doing in our lives and we can trust Him to do right. We can commit our way unto the Lord knowing that He will work everything out for good and that He will bring to pass His will.
Let us trust God, delight in God, and Commit our way to God today!
