Judges 6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. 14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? 15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.
An angel of the Lord appeared unto Gideon while he was threshing wheat in a wine press. I think it is interesting how Gideon responds to the Lord. The angel calls Gideon a man of valour and then Gideon asks why God isn’t doing miracles with the children of Israel. When God tells Gideon that He wants to use him to deliver the children of Israel in a miraculous way Gideon says God, I cannot do it don’t you know who I am.
How often is this our response to God? We want to see God do great things in our generation. Yet when He says He wants to use us we say God I can’t.
Let’s allow God to use us to do great things for Him that the world would know our God
